Access is denied
When installing Unchecky, it fails with the error "Access is denied" if it cannot create a shortcut on the desktop. This should not be an error. In fact, unchecky should not be creating a shortcut in the first place.

Fixed in v0.3.7.5 - install will not fail when a desktop shortcut can't be created.

Intel Core i5, Windows 8.0.
I don't see any specific logs after a failed installation, however.

No, I don't. But I have explicitly set permissions on "C:\Users\Public\Public Desktop" (and C:\Users\<Username>\Desktop) to disable writing data for group "Everyone," hence disabling the ability to create shortcuts on the desktop for everyone.
I have the same problem. Running Windows 7. I never get this response from my anti-virus software.
I've been installing and using Unchecky on multiple computers and just encountered this today for the first time. Checked permissions on user temp folders (which has caused similar errors in the past) but permissions are all correct. Ensured I'm on an admin account and nothing I can do to get past the "Access is Denied" message. Other programs install just fine on this machine. Possible registry permission issue maybe?

Thank you for the report.
It will be fixed in the next version of Unchecky - install will not fail when a desktop shortcut can't be created.
